UC Berkeley's Nuclear Engineering Receives 2018 NEUP Research and Development Awards

The US Department of Energy's Nuclear Energy University Program have announced nearly $64 million in awards for advanced nuclear energy technology to DOE national laboratories, industry, and U.S. universities in 29 states. In support for nuclear energy research, The Office of Nuclear Energy has selected 89 projects to fund, and among them, two Berkeley-led projects will receive an estimated funding of $800,000.00 each from the 2018 Research and Development Awards.

 


NE MEng Team Wins Award for Best MEng Video

The Berkeley MEng Capstone Showcase was held this year on May 2nd and May 4th at The Fung Institute. 

The Nuclear Engineering MEng group presented their promotional video, called "Sanatomics: An Overdue Change for Medical Isotopes."

It won the Alumni Award for the Best Promotional Video. This award is given to the team that produces the most creative, intellectually-rich, and engaging video. Winners are chosen by an MEng Alumni Judging Panel. Congratulations, team!

OMay 5, the Lab welcomed more than 200 Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts from all over the Bay Area for its eighth annual Nuclear Science Day for Scouts.
