Prof. Eric Norman's very popular presentation on Cal Day 2014, "Is Radioactivity from Fukushima a Problem for the US?" is now available for download. The presentation in PDF format can be downloaded following the link below.
The Berkeley Radwatch team has installed a new system that allows us to see natural airborne radioactivity, in (almost) real time. This system is unique world-wide as it is not only based on a high-resolution and highly sensitive gamma-ray detector which collects data continuously but makes the data available to the public on an hourly basis.
Graduate student, Ryan Pavlovsky, and Professor Kai Vetter went out to Half Moon Bay recently to measure radiation levels following some recent widely publicized measurements indicating increased radiation levels on a beach north of the town of Half Moon Bay.
