UCBNE Professor Eric Norman Recognized by Breakthrough Prize

Tuesday, Nov 10th 2015

UCBNE Professor Eric Norman is a member of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) experiment team (who were also recognized as laureates this year by the Breakthrough Institute) led by Prof. Art McDonald of Queens University, Canada who was also awarded the Nobel Prize in physics this year.  This experiment unequivocally established that neutrinos oscillate from one type to another and thus have mass.  You may read more about the discovery and its recognition here.
