Professor Daniel Kammen Appointed as U.S. Science Envoy

Professor Daniel Kammen, a Department of Nuclear Engineering Joint faculty member, has been appointed as one of five U.S. Science Envoys by the US State Department.  The U.S. Science Envoy program “demonstrates the United States’ commitment to science, technology, and innovation as tools of diplomacy and economic growth.” These distinguished scientists will collaborate internationally with governments, universities, non-profits and the private sector to forge connections between countries to motivate sustained corporation. Daniel Kammen will focus on energy innovation in the Middle East and Africa.
